Real estate sales news in Turkey for foreigners during February
The number of homes sold across Turkey in February increased by 21.1 percent compared to the same month a year earlier.
In this context, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced home sales statistics for the month of February.
Accordingly, home sales across Turkey increased by 20.1 percent in February compared to the same month in the previous year, and became 97,587 homes.
Istanbul had the highest share of home sales with 18,752 home sales and 19.2 percent.
According to the number of sales, it was followed by Ankara with 8,464 sales and a share of 8.7 percent, and Izmir with 5 thousand 575 sales and a share of 5.7 percent.
The provinces with the lowest number of home sales are Ardahan with 23 houses, Hekari with 40 houses, and Bayburt with 47 houses respectively.
Home sales in the January-February period increased by 22.5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year and amounted to 185,893 homes.
Mortgage home sales amounted to 19,888 .
Sales of foreclosed homes across Turkey rose 35.6 percent in February compared to the same month a year earlier and became 19,888.
The share of foreclosed sales of total home sales was 20.4 percent. On the other hand, sales of foreclosed homes in the January-February period rose 49.9 percent compared to the same period a year earlier to reach 38 thousand and 71.
The number of direct home sales was 28,897.
The number of direct home sales in Turkey increased by 16.8 percent in February compared to the same month the previous year, and became 28,897.
The share of first home sales of total home sales was 29.6 percent. In the January-February period, direct home sales increased 19.3 percent compared to the same period a year earlier and amounted to 56,100.
68,690 homes exchanged in used home sales
Sales of used homes across Turkey increased by 21.6 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year and became 68 thousand 690. The share of used home sales of total housing sales was 70.4 percent. Sales of used homes in the January-February period increased by 23.8 percent compared to the same period a year earlier and amounted to 129,793.
4,591 homes were sold to foreigners in February
Home sales to foreigners increased by 54.9 percent in February compared to the same month the previous year and became 4 thousand 591.
In February, the share of home sales to foreigners in total home sales was 4.7 percent. Istanbul ranked first in home sales to foreigners through 1958 of home sales. It is followed by Antalya with 1999 sales, then Ankara with 288 sales respectively.
In February, Iranian citizens bought 711 houses from Turkey. It came after the citizens of Iran, the Iraqi citizens, who numbered 633 dwellings, and the Russian citizens, who numbered 509 dwellings, respectively.
