Real estate sales in Turkey decreased in January
Turkey made 199,441 real estate sales in January, down 54 percent compared to the previous month.

The data shows that Istanbul ranked first among the best-selling provinces with 24,785 sales. It is followed by Ankara with 13 thousand and 469, Izmir with 11 thousand and 245, Antalya with 7 thousand 982, Bursa with 7 thousand and 907, Konya with 5 thousand and 770, Kocaeli with 5 thousand and 497, and Balikesir with 5 thousand and 220.
Real estate sales to Americans increase by 115.2%
The number of American citizens who invested in real estate in Turkey during 2021 increased by 115.2 percent compared to the previous year.
According to data with the Turkish Statistics Authority, seen by Anadolu Agency, the number of Americans who bought real estate in Turkey reached 1416 last year.
In general, real estate sales to foreigners increased by 43.5 percent last year, reaching 58,576 properties.
The head of the Association for Real Estate Promotion Abroad Omar Faruk Iqbal told Anadolu Agency that foreigners prefer Turkey to buy real estate for several purposes.
He pointed out that these purposes include investment, tourism, medical treatment, education, and others, and that Americans have recently increased significantly.
He revealed that most of the investors holding US passports were Muslim immigrants from other countries, including Arabs, Pakistanis and Indians.
