Turkey and Qatar have concluded several cooperation agreements in several fields and sectors.

The agreements were signed in Doha, in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who chaired the meeting of the seventh session of the Supreme Strategic Committee between the two countries, which was held at the Emiri Diwan on Tuesday morning 07/12/2021.

As for the volume of investment between the two countries, it is explained by the large number of companies operating in Doha and Ankara. About 711 Turkish companies operate in Qatar, including about 664 companies with Qatari and Turkish capital, and 47 companies with 100% Turkish capital, in addition to more than 183 Qatari companies operating in Turkey. .

15 agreements were signed, including:

1- A memorandum of understanding was signed in the field of disaster and emergency management between the Presidency of Disaster and Emergency Management of the Turkish Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior of Qatar.

2- A protocol was signed between the Turkish and Qatari governments on the implementation of the Letter of Intent related to cooperation on the implementation of major events.

3- It was agreed on a joint statement of the letter of intent on establishing institutional cooperation between the Antalya Diplomatic Forum and the Doha Forum,

 

4- A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of ceremonies, and the seventh meeting of the Supreme Strategic Committee.

5- The two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding between the Turkish Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Department and Qatar Development Bank.

6- Another memorandum of understanding between the Turkish Standards Institute and the Qatar General Standardization Organization.

7- The two sides also agreed on the second executive program in the field of culture for the years 2022-2023 between the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Qatari Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the first executive program in the field of youth and sports between the governments of the two countries for the years 2022-2024.

8- A program agreement for cooperation in the fields of health and medical sciences was signed between the Turkish and Qatari governments.

9- A memorandum of understanding was also signed on cooperation between the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Qatari Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

10- A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Investment Office of the Turkish Presidency and the Qatari Businessmen Association.

11- In addition to a cooperation agreement between the Turkish Anadolu Agency and the Qatar News Agency.

12-According to a statement by the Amiri Diwan, the Emir of Qatar and the Turkish President discussed, during the meeting of the Supreme Committee, ways of consolidating and developing strategic cooperation relations between their two countries and advancing them at various levels.

The statement quoted the Emir of Qatar as affirming during the meeting the importance of the committee's meetings and the meetings of officials of the two countries in order to achieve its goals in consolidating the Qatari-Turkish strategic partnership.

Al-Thani expressed his hope that the agreements between the two sides would contribute to achieving the interests of the Qatari and Turkish peoples in various fields.

For his part, the Turkish President considered that this session of the Supreme Committee's meetings will enhance the existing cooperation between the two countries in various areas of partnership, according to the same statement.

President Erdoğan invited Emir Tamim to the eighth session of the Supreme Strategic Committee between the two countries, to be held in Turkey next year.

On Monday, Erdogan began a two-day official visit to Qatar, accompanied by his wife Amina, the Ministers of Trade, Mehmet Muş, Agriculture and Forestry Bakr Pakdemirli, Health Fakhruddin Koca, and Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

He is also accompanied by the head of the Turkish Presidency Communication Department Fahrettin Altun, the head of the Defense Industries Corporation, Ismail Demir, the presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin, and the head of religious affairs Ali Erbash.
