Beykoz region throughout history:

It dates back to 700 BC, and the ancient name of the region was Amicus or Amnekos. In the times of the Ottoman Empire, the lands behind Beykoz were forests used by the Ottoman sultans and their court to practice hunting and escape away from the noise of the city, and it contains the fishing hut in Küçüksu , the water fountains and the mosques that adorned the villages along the coast that remained as relics from that era.
