Turkey provides humanitarian residency for this group of Syrians0
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Directorate of Immigration in the state of Istanbul, during a meeting with representatives of Syrian civil society organizations, took a set of decisions related to special legal transactions for Syrians as follows:
The requirement to renew the passport during the tourist residency transactions has been canceled , and those who cannot renew will get a (humanitarian) residency
Syrians (residency holders, not Kamliks), will be able to benefit from this step if they have newborn children, as humanitarian residency will be granted to newborns with the aforementioned condition.
The change of residence address will be made available to foreigners through the E-DEVLET website without the need to visit the Nufus Department
During the meeting, the Immigration Department stressed to ensure that the person's name is registered with his residence address, otherwise he is likely to face major problems such as residence revocation.
Humanitarian residence or humanitarian asylum, as it is called, is a type of residence permit that grants the right to protection to persons who are unable to live in their country for special reasons , as stipulated in the United Nations Convention held in Geneva in 1951 and signed by 130 countries.
Turkey is one of those countries that have signed the agreement, according to which it grants humanitarian residency to those who fulfill its conditions.
Humanitarian residency does not entitle its bearer to own real estate, whatever it may be, in Turkey, and it does not allow him to work except after obtaining a work permit.
